Welcome to Il Borro!
Arrive at the Florence Airport by 2:00. Transportation will be provided to Il Borro. Go to baggage claim and look for the Il Borro sign. Upon arriving at this incredible 5 Star Villa, owned by the Ferragamo Family, you will be escorted to your room in the Medieval Village. Relax and refresh before joining us for an aperitif at 6:00. While sipping local wine and enjoying canapes you will meet other guests and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Dinner will be a SENSATIONAL four course meal paired with Il Borro wines prepared by Chef Andrea.
Day 2: Monday, October 7, 2019
Il Borro
Today we enjoy the beautiful property of Il Borro starting with a leisurely breakfast. Mid-morning we will be introduced to the Ferragamo wines with a tour and tasting. Lunch will be served at the Osteria del Borro where Chef Andrea will prepare a variety of local plates for us. The afternoon will allow for a spa, golf, a walk, and even horseback riding at the estate before a cooking demonstration with Chefs Andrea and David.
Day 3: October 8, 2019
Siena
Today we explore the Medieval town of Siena. Our guide will take us on a two hour walking tour of Siena, pointing out the historical highlights of the city. Lunch will be served at the family owned restaurant, Osteria le Logge. Laura and Gianni Brunelli will be presenting us with local cuisine and wine. Upon returning to Il Borro you will have time to relax before our final evening. We will cheers farewell to our lovely Villa with aperitifs and hors devours followed by a bountiful dinner with local wines.
Day 4: October 9, 2019
Florence
The birthplace of the Renaissance awaits us! Florence is the capital of Tuscany and we will be exploring this historic town with a guided tour. We will be stopping at their world-famous food market, followed by lunch in Florence. We will be transported to our next Villa outside of Lucca, Borgo Bernardini. Upon checking in there will be time to refresh before Chef David prepares a fabulous Tuscan meal for us.
Day 5: October 10, 2019
Lucca
The walled city of Lucca was founded by the Etruscans. It is home to the original Comicon! In the morning transportation will be provided from our Villa to Lucca for an historic walking tour. Lucca boasts numerous public squares and towers and in 1803 Napoleon had his sister Elisa appointed as the Princess of Lucca. After working up our appetite, Vino e Convivo will host us for lunch in the tiny village of Guamo. Giuseppina will be serving very traditional, home made cuisine along with wines. It is like sitting at Nonni’s table! Later on in the day Chef David will be giving us a hands on cooking demonstration at our Villa. Be prepared for a fun interactive evening!
Day 6: October 11, 2019
Super Tuscan Wines and Bolgheri
Tuscany is home to incredible wines, including the Super Tuscan wines, which we will be tasting today. Our path leads us to Bolgheri, a quaint ancient Tuscan village. Olive wood gifts are a must buy here! Vineyards abound on this picturesque drive.
Lunch will be at Osteria San Guido, a charming home-like restaurant where the meal changes based upon the season and local produce. Local wines will be poured to pair with our meal.
Our final night in Tuscany will bring us together once again for a farewell aperitif reception and an exceptional dinner prepared by Chef David!
